How to use our classic gallery wall template in four simple steps
To celebrate the one year anniversary of our gallery wall collaboration with Bobby Berk, we’re launching six new gallery layouts — this time featuring our classic frames with a more affordable price point.
To get started, you’ll need:
- Your gallery wall template *
- Nails for hanging your frames
- Level
- Hammer
- Tape
* The following items are included with your classic gallery wall
Step 1: Tape your gallery wall template on your desired wall
First, open up the gallery wall template and securely tape it up on your desired picture wall. If you have a level, you can use a level against one frame outline to ensure the template is straight.
Step 2: Hammer nails onto the X marks of your gallery wall template
If you look closely at your gallery wall template, each rectangle (sized perfectly for each frame) will have one X mark on it. Be sure you securely hammer a nail into every X to ensure that your photo wall layout is positioned perfectly!
Bonus tip: if your nails aren’t long enough to reach the frame from the X mark, there’s an alternative solution. You’ll notice that each gallery wall template has an inner border, which aligns with the inside of the frame. You can opt to put a nail in the top center of the inner line instead, so that your frame is held securely from the top.
Step 3: Remove gallery wall template
After you’ve hammered in your nails in all the proper places, you can gently take down the gallery wall template from your wall. It’s totally fine if the paper rips — you won’t need it anymore.
Step 4: Hang your frames in the right places
Now that you’ve taken down the gallery wall template, all that should be left on your walls are the nails you securely hammered in. This means you’re ready to hang your frames! Carefully display your frames into their correct positions, based on the photo wall layout you ordered.
